Fortinet NSEI_OTS_AR-7.6 Exam Questions, sharing my prep notes for anyone starting this one

Passed the NSEI_OTS_AR-7.6 last week, sharing what I actually worked through in case it saves someone else some time figuring out where to start.

I came into this with a general IT security background, mostly firewall and network admin work, so I wasn't totally new to Fortinet products, but OT security is a different mindset. The biggest adjustment was realizing that in OT environments, keeping systems running takes priority over locking everything down tight, which is basically the opposite instinct from traditional IT security. That reframing took a bit to actually sink in, not just read about.

For the hands-on side, I spent time going through FortiNAC concepts specifically, how it identifies devices on the network during Layer 2 polling, since that felt like a topic I couldn't just reason through without knowing the actual mechanics. Same with the Security Fabric setup between FortiGate units; understanding what makes one device the Fabric Root versus just another authorized connector took some real focus, not something you can guess your way through.

I also spent more time than expected on FortiAnalyzer and FortiGate integration, specifically around event handlers and automated responses to compromised devices. That's the kind of workflow that makes way more sense once you've actually clicked through the setup yourself rather than just reading a description of it.

A few of the questions came with exhibits, screenshots of configuration pages you had to interpret, which caught me a bit off guard since I hadn't practiced that format much beforehand.

I worked through the Fortinet NSEI_OTS_AR-7.6 exam questions on CertBoosters about ten days before my exam, and the mix there, FortiNAC, Security Fabric, event handler automation, matched up closely with what I actually saw, which helped me know where to keep drilling versus where I already had a decent handle on things.
